Privacy
Nessy is not released yet. This is how the app will handle your information when it is. If anything here changes before launch, this page changes first.
The short version
- Nessy reads your gradebook. It never writes to it.
- Your grades are yours. We do not sell them, rent them, or use them to target advertising.
- We collect the least we need to make the app work, and nothing extra because it might be useful later.
- Delete your account and your data goes with it.
What Nessy collects
- Your Schoology connection. You sign in through Schoology, which gives Nessy permission to read your data. Nessy never sees or stores your Schoology password.
- Your coursework. Courses, assignments, scores, category weights and due dates — the same information already in your gradebook. Nessy stores it so the app can show it to you and do the arithmetic on it.
- What you create in Nessy. Notes, reminders, and the practice scores you type into what-if. These exist only in Nessy and are never sent to your school.
- Basic diagnostics. Device type, operating system, app version, and crash reports. Used to find and fix problems, not to build a profile of you.
What Nessy does with it
Three things. It calculates your grades and shows them to you. It notifies you when something changes, if you have asked it to. It saves what you have entered so it is still there next time you open the app.
That is the whole list. Your coursework is not used to train models, is not analysed for anyone other than you, and is not combined with data from other students.
What Nessy never does
- Sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
- Show advertising, or use your grades to target advertising anywhere else.
- Share your grades with teachers, schools, classmates, or other parents.
- Change a grade, submit work, or write anything at all back to Schoology.
If you are under 13
Nessy is for students aged 13 and up. If you are under 13 you cannot use Nessy — please do not create an account, and a parent or school cannot create one for you either. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we find out we have, we delete it and close the account.
For parents and guardians
You can ask us what information we hold about your student, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it and close the account. Write to info@twofish.solutions from an address we can verify, and we will answer within 30 days.
Nessy is a tool for the student, not a monitoring product. It does not send you reports on their grades, and it does not tell them you asked.
How long we keep things
Coursework and the notes you have made stay while your account is open. Delete your account and we remove them within 30 days. Diagnostic and crash data is kept for up to 90 days and then discarded.
How it is protected
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the people who need it to run and support the app, and it is logged. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if something goes wrong that affects you.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects what we collect or what we do with it, you will see a notice in the app before it takes effect.
